I actually recall watching this game. I didn't think it would ever end. When it finally did I was just happy that somebody scored.

Sadly that may be the last good thing that happened for the isles

I recall Lou Franseschetti taking a puck from his own end all the way down to Kelly Hrudey at the oher end & Hrudey making a great save w little time left in the 3rd OT. It was like 1:30 am & I didn't think it would ever end either. Classic game.

I remember being at my uncles house in Toronto for the weekend, and not going out to party with my cousin cause I wanted to watch the game. By the third ot, he was home, drunk as a skunk. He got to watch the rest of the game, and I've hated him since lol.

I was in a pub in Mtl. I was the only one with an Isles jersey, but oh (frank), I was the loudest that night !!!

That was a YUGE upset. Mario's Pens had that long unbeaten streak that season. Unfortunately for the Isies, they had nothing left in the tank for the next round against the Habs.

But you won that series vs Pittsburgh without him, he came back in the Montreal series. Nobody was beating the Habs that yr, they had the mojo, Cinderella team like no other. Didn't they win like 10 or 11 OT games that 93 playoff? Crazy

Good thing we have the memories.. we haven't got much else
